Want to get on our airwaves? Want to start a podcast? Want to interview musicians; research and produce news stories; or help out with our massive music library? Come out on February 26th for New Volunteer Orientation and training!
CFRC has numerous opportunities for you to get involved, develop transferable/employable skills, and of course to make new friends and participate in CFRC's ongoing work in both campus and community life since 1922! Our next training session will take place Tuesday February 26th from 5:30-7:30 PM at CFRC. Then we will do a general station orientation where you will learn about how the station operates, how we are funded, and the variety of opportunities you can take advantage of as a volunteer or even a
programmer with your own on-air show and/or podcast!
If you would like to join us on February 26th, please sign up here In the meantime, you are encouraged to drop by the station in Lower Carruthers Hall to check out our music library, meet staff and volunteers, and otherwise talk about ways you'd like to get
involved. Don't forget to follow us on social media for event details and updates!
Some opportunities you can find as a volunteer include:
Music and spoken word programming on air
Podcasting
DJing special events
Content research and production
Creative audio production
Music library support
Coordinating and conducting in studio and on location interviews
Remote and Sports Broadcasting
Promotions, marketing and outreach
Social event planning
Tech and IT Committee participation
Of course, alongside these, there are many core competencies you can learn/develop as a CFRC volunteer
including communications, team-building, networking and more!
As an aside, community volunteers pay a 7.50 annual membership fee to support our ongoing training.
AMS (Queen's undergrads) pay this fee automatically in their student activity fees and SGPS (Queen's grad and professional students) can opt in to this fee in their activity fee roster.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon and welcoming you aboard CFRC! See you on February 26th!!
