BUILDING COMMUNITY IN UNCERTAIN TIMES
We live in a community of countless diverse experiences; and yet, over the past months we have shared much in the way of change, uncertainty, and isolation. These times are when the power of campus/community radio to connect us to each other becomes even more important to our lives.
At CFRC, we are trying to use that power more effectively and more robustly than ever before. We are trying to reach more of our fellow community members through new initiatives such as daily news and increased cultural programming and bridge the gaps that have been created during the pandemic. We are trying to create new opportunities for musicians, spoken word programmers, and podcasters to reach out to audiences that that are craving thoughtful and artistic content in a time of increased isolation.
These initiatives fall under our mandate to empower and enrich the communities that we serve, but we cannot do it without the great work of our staff and volunteers...and we can't do it without the support of our members and donors.
This year's Funding Drive will run from November 1st to December 31st and we are asking CFRC's alumni and community members to donate and help CFRC continue serving the Queen's campus and Kingston communities.
Like last year, CFRC is collecting donations through a GO FUND ME campaign, and donations collected will help us to maintain our equipment and the programming capacity of the station. For donors seeking tax receipts, you can donate to CFRC through Queen's University HERE.
Thank you for supporting community radio.
