Queen’s Arts and Science Undergrad Society (ASUS) Move Out Event

As the academic year comes to a close and many Queen’s students prepare to move out for the summer, the Queen’s Arts and Science Undergrad Society, along with the Kingston Youth Shelter, Dawn House Kingston, Trellis HIV and Community Care is holding a series of events to engage students, charitable organizations, and the greater community, while helping to cut back on waste and excess recycling by giving students the opportunity to bring in their old items for trade, donation or recycling.

Events take place April 27, 28, and 29th at the ASUS Office at 183 University Avenue. The events coincide with City of Kingston initiatives which aim to make move out a smooth, neat and safe experience.

Students are asked to drop off items – furniture, household items, electronics, spent batteries, clothing, food, etc. at the ASUS office from 12-4pm on each of the scheduled days. Students can also come down to the office on those days and pick up any items that they would like for their household. At the end of each day, the items will be removed from the ASUS property and brought to different local charities, thrift stores, and appropriate waste facilities.

The Arts and Science Undergraduate Society (ASUS) is committed to diverting waste from landfill and supporting the local Kingston community while alleviating the stress of moving by allowing students to drop off unwanted, donatable items during move-out.
