Put your used single-use household batteries out for collection in a clear, sealed, plastic bag beside your curbside waste the week of April 25 to 29 on your normal collection day.
“Never put batteries in the garbage. We hold this collection during the spring-cleaning season to help remind you it’s time to properly dispose of dead single-use batteries as you get your home ready for the change in season,” says Adam Mueller, Supervisor of Solid Waste Disposal.
The best place for the bag of used batteries is on the ground beside your recycling box or next to another curbside waste container where it can be easily seen by a collector.
Car, tool, and other types of large batteries will not be collected.
