Ongwanada receives Accreditation

Kingston, ON (February 24, 2022) – Ongwanada services recently underwent a thorough assessment by surveyors from Accreditation Canada.   Ongwanada is proud to announce that it has received Accreditation with Commendation and will hold this standing until 2024.

The Accreditation Canada survey team spent several days at our residential homes, resource centre and community day program, evaluating the organization against national standards. Ongwanada voluntarily participates in the accreditation process to improve the quality of the services it provides to individuals with developmental disabilities.

“The provision of quality supports and service and focus on safety of the individuals we support and of our staff are extremely important principles for everyone who works here,” said Alastair Lamb, CEO of Ongwanada. “This accreditation award clearly demonstrates our commitment to these principles.”

There are a number of components to the accreditation process, against which the quality of services and supports provided are measured.  These were assessed when the surveyors met with staff, board members, community partners, supported individuals, and their families.
