No parking on streets overnight starting Dec. 1

November 25, 2021

Starting Wednesday, Dec. 1, parking is prohibited on all City streets from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. – and from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. on the streets that surround Kingston General Hospital. The overnight Winter Parking Bylaw ensures that vehicles are kept off streets so that snowplows can effectively respond to winter weather events.

“By keeping vehicles off the roads overnight our crews are able to clear snow and ice more quickly, safely and efficiently,” says Karen Santucci, Director, Public Works and Solid Waste Services. “Keeping our transportation network – including roads, sidewalks – safe and accessible throughout the winter is a key priority for the City.”

Vehicle-owners who violate the bylaw will receive a fine of up to $30 and may have their vehicle towed.

The overnight Winter Parking Bylaw remains in effect until the end of March 2022.
