Local artist Neven Lochhead launches 'Vibe Check' experimental radio art program on CFRC April 21st 2021

CFRC is thrilled to launch a new special series entitled Vibe Check by Neven Lochhead starting April 21st at 4:30 pm.

Tune in for Vibe Check, a four-part, biweekly radio art project by local artist (and CFRC/Queen's University alumus) Neven Lochhead. In this program, listeners will be introduced to the artist's process of 'sonic scaffolding' and its effects. A CFRC interview with Lochhead about his recently opened (but currently closed) solo exhibition From the vibe out at Agnes Etherington Art Centre becomes a base track for layered auditory experimentations, which seek to transpose the approaches taken towards the two-channel video installation to CFRC's immersive stereo habitat. The episode closes with an output from a workshop conducted as part of Lochhead's attendant and ongoing learning experiment involving a group of local artists.

This special series will broadcast on CFRC 101.9 FM and cfrc.ca at 4:30 PM on April 21, May 5, May 19, and June 2.  Podcasts will also become available after biweekly starting April 22nd 2021.  Episodes of Vibe Check will also be available via Digital Agnes.
