KFL&A Region May Move into Green Zone by Tuesday

The KFL&A region is one of four public health units in Ontario to move into the Green Zone come February 9, 2021 at 12:01am. This means that restaurants and non-essential businesses may be able to reopen in the region.

On Monday February 8th at 1 PM, Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to announce that the stay-at-home order will expire on Tuesday as originally planned. The province will also have an "emergency brake" plan set in place to allow the government to move back into a lockdown situation if COVID-19 cases, and its variant cases surge, or if the "health-care system becomes overwhelmed."
During the week of February 15th, 2021, all other regions in the province will move into less-restrictive phases based on their case rate, except for three hotspots in the Greater Toronto Area which includes the Peel region, Toronto region, and York region.
KFL&A Health Unit has not confirmed changes as of 11 am on February 8th 2021.  Updates forthcoming.
