Calling all not-for-profits and registered charities in Kingston: do you have a green project to fund? The City can help!
On May 26, attend one of two free and fun virtual information sessions hosted by the City, and learn more about the Kingston Community Climate Action Fund (KCCAF).
Julie Salter-Keane, Manager of the City’s Climate Leadership Division, will lead the meeting, and provide attendees with the following:
- An overview of the fund
- How to apply
- The types of projects that will be eligible for funding
Past participants will also be on hand to share their experiences, and questions will be answered throughout the event!
Introduced in 2020 in partnership with the Kingston Community Credit Union, the KCCAF supports local projects to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. During the 2020 and 2021 fundraising year, more than $40,000 was raised to support green initiatives, including the purchase of an electric vehicle for Martha’s Table.
“Climate change is one of the few things that hasn't stopped during the pandemic. Thanks to the KCCAF and community partners, Martha's Table will help reduce emissions using an e-vehicle to deliver meals to people that can't leave home,” says Ronda Candy, Executive Director of Martha’s Table.
“We hope you will accept our invitation and attend the information session. Together, we will green your good work and build a more sustainable and resilient Kingston,” concludes Salter-Keane, Manager of the City’s Climate Leadership Division.
