Melos welcomes Patricia O’Callaghan, soprano, in an exploration of music
and poetry from colder climes, on winter’s darkness, challenges and
beauty. With Patricia’s stunning voice highlighting the works, Melos
Choir & Period Instruments will perform traditional songs and carols of
Wales, Ireland and Sweden; contemporary settings of wintry words by
Claude Debussy and Dennis Lee; Lassus’ “Videntes Stellam”; and excerpts
from Bach’s BWV 182, “Himmelskönig, sei willkommen”; and Vivaldi’s
“Seasons”. With poetry readings and narration by Peter Aston.

This concert is made possible through the generous sponsorship of the
Sisters of Providence of St Vincent de Paul, DT Splinter Custom
Kitchens, Madeley Automotive & Diagnostic Service, and Capital Movers &
Storage.
