City Matters: Weekly COVID-19 Bulletin

The KFL&A Region is now in the Grey-Lockdown level. The shutdown will be in effect until Jan. 23, 2021. Find out about the changes.
 

News from the City


Emergency Child Care Services
  • To support health care/front-line workers during the Provincial lockdown, the City of Kingston, with Licensed Child Care Operators, is opening licensed spaces for emergency child care services for school-aged children from January 11 - 22. Apply online
Kingston Transit service adjustments began Dec. 28
  • Monday – Friday: All routes on Saturday service level, except Route 10 which remains on weekday service levels
  • Saturdays: Saturday service level
  • Sundays: Sunday service level
  • Route 18/18Q and all Queen’s University seasonal routes continue to be suspended
Stay safe: Connect with City services from home 
  • City staff continue to deliver services to residents during the provincial lockdown, safely and reliably. The City encourages residents to connect by phone, email or online when possible.
  • Outlined on this page are high-traffic City offices and alternate means to connect with staff at various locations, as we all work to do our part to eliminate the spread of COVID-19.
Closed City Services
As a reminder:
  • Recreation facilities and programs are suspended until Jan. 23
  • All short-stay absences and general visits for residents at Rideaucrest Home will not be permitted except by defined caregivers
  • The Kingston Grand Theatre is closed to the public until further notice.
  • The PumpHouse Museum is closed until further notice in accordance with the Provincewide Shutdown.

Keep Safe. Be Kind.


While the KFL&A Region is in the Grey-Lockdown level, please remember the following recommendations from The Chief Medical Officer of Health:
  • Stay home to the fullest extent possible.
  • Limit close contact to your household (the people you live with).
  • Do not attend gatherings with anyone outside of your household. 
  • Limit trips outside of the home only for essential purposes (e.g., health care, medication, groceries, and child care). 
  • Limit travel outside the region and out of the province to only essential purposes. 
  • Exercise alone or with people in your household. 
  • Work remotely in all industries to the greatest extent possible. 
  • Maintain 2 metres of physical distance from everyone outside of your household. 
  • Wear a face covering indoors and outdoors if physical distancing cannot be maintained; or if wearing one is required.
