City Matters: Weekly COVID-19 Bulletin April 1st

The Government of Ontario is implementing a provincewide shutdown, which will take-effect on April 3, 2021 at 12:01 a.m.

What this means 
  • Due to their essential nature, most municipal services will continue to be provided, including waste collection, in-person transactions at City Hall and Bylaw Enforcement.
  • Essential services and the vaccine clinic at INVISTA Centre remain open.
  • Kingston transit will continue to operate on a reduced service level.
  • While the Section 22 Order issued by KFL&A Public Health on March 1 is still in effect, indoor gatherings of individuals not living together are now prohibited. Outdoor gatherings of more than five individuals not living together are still prohibited.

Closed City Services
Recreation facilities and programs are suspended during the provincewide shutdown
  • All indoor recreation facilities and programs will be closed effective April 2 and will remain closed during the provincial shutdown.
  • Program and facility bookings will be refunded.
  • Clients who have a Fit Pass, Wellness Pass, Gym Pass or Pool Pass do not need to contact the City, their PLAY accounts will be automatically adjusted.
Grand Theatre
  • The Kingston Grand Theatre, Baby Grand and the Regina Rosen Auditorium are closed to the public until further notice.  The Box Office is available for contact through phone inquiries Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Patrons may call 613-530-2050 or email [email protected]
Changing City Services

The Kingston Frontenac Public Library will offer curbside pickup starting Saturday, April 3.

The COVID-19 Vaccine clinic at the INVISTA Centre remains open
The COVID-19 Vaccine clinic at the INVISTA Centre remains open for booked appointments. For more information about booking an appointment visit the KFL&A Public Health website. 

City Hall and the City Facilities at 1211 John Counter Blvd. remain open
Residents are encouraged to access services online or by phone wherever possible.
