City Matters COVID-19 Bulletin - March 21

City Matters: COVID-19 Bulletin

March 21

Wearing a mask is now a choice in many settings. We encourage and remind everyone to remain kind, considerate, and respectful toward everyone who wears a mask and everyone who does not.

There are still steps you can take to reduce your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19.

  • Continue to wear a mask in healthcare settings and on public transit
  • Stay at home if you are sick
  • Get your booster dose
Masks and passive screening requirements are lifted in municipal buildings
Aligned with the Province of Ontario’s lifting of most COVID-19 public health restrictions, the City of Kingston will remove the mandatory masking and passive screening requirements at all indoor municipal facilities on March 21, 2022.

This includes:
  • All recreation facilities including Artillery Park Aquatic Centre and the INVISTA Centre
  • Cultural facilities and museums including Kingston Grand Theatre
  • City Hall and administrative buildings such as 1211 John Counter Blvd. and Housing and Social Services at 362 Montreal St.
  • Kingston Frontenac Public Library branches
Passengers aboard Kingston Transit and Kingston Access Bus and visitors to Rideaucrest Long-Term Care Home will be required to wear masks until April 27.

The continued lifting of restrictions in Kingston will follow the gradual re-opening milestones outlined by the Province of Ontario.
