CFRC Board is Recruiting!

CFRC 101.9 FM-Radio Queen’s University is seeking nominations from the Indigenous and Queen’s Alumni communities to let their name stand for election to the Board of Directors for 2020/21. Positions are for a two-year term. All positions are confirmed annually by the membership present at the Annual General Meeting held in November each year. 

Desired qualifications to serve as a Director of the Radio Queen’s University (RQU) Board can include:

  • A sincere desire to assist in growing CFRC’s listenership and volunteer opportunities by promoting the benefits of independent radio on campus and in the community;

  • Professional skills/expertise or lived experiences, which can be drawn upon as required in certain areas (e.g. financial, marketing, communications, policy, HR, governance, event planning);

  • Ability to attend approximately 10 virtual Board meetings/year (typically 1-1.5 hours in length) and (when possible) attend CFRC community events; 

  • Ability to participate on at least one working committee. 

  • For the Indigenous Representative position, the candidate must identify as an Indigenous person.

The proposed slate for 2020/21 will be presented to the Board at their regular August 2020 meeting.  The slate will then be presented to CFRC’s membership in the first two weeks of September and ratified at the Annual General Meeting in November 2020.  If there are more names than required, an election will be held and ratified at the Annual General Meeting in November 2020. 

If you would like to stand for election to the 2020/21 Board of Directors, please submit your name, email address, affiliation, and a one-page (maximum) letter of interest detailing your qualifications and interests in joining Radio Queen’s University to Daniel Beals, Interim Board President, at board@cfrc.ca. Deadline for nominations is August 15th 2020.
