Apply to be a Designated Election Official in the 2022 municipal elections KINGSTON, ONT. / July 25, 2022

Take part in the upcoming municipal elections! The City of Kingston is hiring Designated Election Officials to work on advance voting days, from Oct. 18 – 22, and voting day, Monday, Oct. 24.

"Working for the municipal elections is a great way to get involved in the electoral process,” says Janet Jaynes, Assistant Returning Officer.

The following positions need to be filled: 
•    Site Supervisors
•    Deputy Returning Officers
•    Deputy Returning Officers - Institutional Voting Places
•    Machine Operators
•    Greeters/Demonstrators

Designated Election Officials must not be a candidate or the spouse, sibling, parent or child, or grandparent or grandchild of a candidate running in the 2022 municipal elections, or the spouse, sibling, parent or child, or grandparent or grandchild of a registered third-party advertiser.

All Designated Election Officials are required to attend a two-to-three-hour training session, which will be conducted between late-September and mid-October. More information, including general qualifications for each position, are available on the City’s website.
