Sustainable Kingston is a local non-profit engaged in knowledge and resource sharing that drives community action in areas including food security, sustainable transportation, environmental stewardship and more. The Repair Café is a grassroots organization where community members and skilled volunteers gather together with tools and knowledge sharing to repair clothing, electrical items, furniture, toys and more.

“Repairing helps people keep their valued items in service, save money, avoid the landfill and get a great sense of satisfaction by not having to throw out a fixable thing,” says Brian Weir, Director and Co-Founder of RCK.

The joint virtual event will include live demonstrations of basic woodworking, fixing broken chairs, basic electronics, and fixing broken lamps. At the end, there will be an opportunity for people to ask about fixing their own broken items.
