  • CFRC is Hiring, a Music coordinator!

    This person will work on our music catalogue and outreach, providing support for programmers


    Duties for this position would include: 

    coordinate new music reviewing, cataloguing, integrating into CD and digital library, into physical and digital library  

    help train programmers on CRTC music requirements; copyright law, and other regulations; assist program manager to ensure program logs are current

    Liaise with indie music labels, independent Cdn artists to ensure CFRC has access to new music, especially by artists with upcoming performances in Kingston

    Leads new music listening sessions/This just in show 

    assist program manager in preparing SOCAN reports as needed

    Supports weekly collating NCRA earshot charts with volunteers

    Supports volunteers/staff in coordinating, producing coverage of local music events and festivals for "Kingston Staged"

    Requirements for the role are: 

    Passionate about music, appreciation of wide array of genres

    Able to work independently and meet deadlines

    Strong people and communication skills; comfortable with teaching/coaching volunteers

    Interest in audio recording, editing and production


    Assets the ideal candidate would posses:  

    Organizational/follow-through skills 

    Interest and experience with alphabetization, data entry, library management and research 

    Experienced with live/pre-records/field recording

    Experience working with volunteers

    Interest and enjoyment in live music and the music industry


    Conditions of Employment include:

    This is a student position that runs from May 5 to August 31. If the incumbent is returning to school in the fall, the position may be renewed for the 2017-18 school year. 


    Weekly Hours & Salary 

    20 hours a week , $13/hr

    This position reports to program manager and up to station manager
